Cai Fôn Davies

CAI FÔN DAVIES is 17 years of age and a pupil at Ysgol Tryfan, Bangor – and is in the process of starting his A level exams. Cai has been singing since he was 6 years of age and has been successful at the Urdd Eisteddfod, the National Eisteddfod, Llangollen International Eisteddfod and recently was awarded highly commended at the Wirral Festival of Music. Cai enjoys to sing a varied repertoire – from classical to folk songs as well as ‘cerdd dant’ and one can really say that singing is very much a part of his culture.

Mae canu wedi bod yn rhan fawr o fywyd Cai ers yn ifanc ac mae wedi bod yn llwyddiannus yn Eisteddfodau’r Urdd, y Genedlaethol ac Eisteddfod Ryngwladol Llangollen. Mae wrth ei fodd yn canu pob math o ganeuon – o’r clasurol, i ganu gwerin a cherdd dant.

ELAIN RHYS JONES is 19 years old and currently studying Music at Bangor University. She is taught by Elinor Bennett and is very grateful to her for every guidance and support. Elain secured her place as a harpist in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales in 2015. In 2017, she received a distinction in her ARSM diploma and won the harp solo under 19 at the Urdd National Eisteddfod and the 2nd prize in the National Eisteddfod. Elain was one of the finalists in the youth competition at the 2018 International Harp Festival

Mae ELAIN RHYS JONES yn 19 oed ac yn astudio Cerddoriaeth ym Mhrifysgol Bangor. Elinor Bennett yw ei thiwtor ac mae'n ddyledus iddi am bob arweiniad a chefnogaeth. Cafodd gyfle i fod yn un o delynorion Cerddorfa Genedlaethol Ieuenctid Cymru yn 2015. Yn 2017, llwyddodd mewn arholiad diploma ARSM gydag anrhydedd ac enillodd ar yr unawd telyn dan 19 yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yr Urdd a dod yn 2il yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol. Roedd hefyd yn un o'r telynorion yn rownd derfynol y gystadleuaeth ieuenctid yng Ngŵyl Delynau Rhyngwladol Cymru 2018.

SIWAN MASON is a sixth form pupil in Ysgol David Hughes. She has had success in National 'Eisteddfodau' as a soloist. She has also been fortunate to perform on prestigious stages such as the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the West End and Disneyland Paris as an individual, a member of Glanaethwy choir and in a production of Les Miserables.  

Mae SIWAN MASON yn ddisgybl chweched dosbarth yn Ysgol David Hughes. Mae wedi cael llwyddiant mewn Eisteddfodau Cenedlaethol yn unigol. Mae hefyd yn ffodus o fod wedi perfformio ar lwyfannau byd enwog gan gynnwys y Neuadd Frenhinol Albert, Neuadd Carnegie, yr West End a Disneyland Paris fel unigolyn, ac fel aelod o gôr Glanaethwy a chynhyrchiad sioe gerdd Les Miserables.

PHOEBE ROBERTS has been playing the cello since the age of nine and achieved grade 8 with distinction in December 2017. She is a regular member of the county, university and North Wales Youth orchestras, as well as a local piano trio.

Mae PHEOBE ROBERTS wedi bod yn canu’r soddgrwth ers iddi fod yn naw mlwydd oed ac enillodd radd 8 gydag anrhydedd ym mis Rhagfyr 2017. Mae hi yn aelod o gerddorfeydd y sir, y brifysgol a cherddorfa Ieuenctid Gogledd Cymru, yn ogystal â thriawd piano lleol.

STEFFAN DAFYDD is originally from Ruthin in Denbighshire and is a former member of Côr Cytgan Clwyd. He now sings with Côr Coda and Bangor University Aelwyd choir, and from September he is looking forward to taking over as the conductor of this choir. He started singing lessons last year at the Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias under the guidance of Ann Atkinson. He is now studying Music and Welsh at Bangor University and has singing lessons from Marian Bryfdir.

Mae STEFFAN DAFYDD yn frodor o Rhuthun yn Nyffryn Clwyd ac yn gyn aelod o Gôr Cytgan Clwyd. Erbyn hyn mae'n canu hefo Côr Coda a Chôr Aelwyd Bangor ac o fis Medi nesaf ymlaen mi fydd yn dechrau ar ei ddyletswyddau fel arweinydd y côr hwn. Dechreuodd Steffan gael gwersi canu gan Ann Atkinson dan adain Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias y llynedd. Bellach mae’n astudio Cerdd a Chymraeg ym Mhrifysgol Bangor ac yn cael gwersi canu gan Marian Bryfdir yno.

STEPHEN COWLEY (15), David Hughes School, has been playing guitar for years, playing electric, acoustic and now classical guitar at an advanced level.

Mae STEPHEN COWLEY (15), Ysgol David Hughes, wedi bod yn chwarae gitâr ers blynyddoedd, gan chwarae gitâr trydan, acwstig ac yn awr clasurol ar lefel uchel.

CERYS EDWARDS is a pupil in Year 10 at Ysgol Brynhyfryd, Ruthin. She is taught piano by Teleri-Sian, and won the third prize for solo piano Yrs7-9 at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Bridgend in 2017.

Mae CERYS EDWARDS yn ddisgybl ym Mlwyddyn 10, Ysgol Brynhyfryd Ruthin. Mae’n derbyn gwersi piano gan Teleri-Sian ac enillodd y drydedd wobr am unawd piano Bl 7-9 yn Eisteddfod yr Urdd ym Mhen-y-Bont ar Ogwr yn 2017.
