Following her success in 2017, the American mezzo-soprano returns with songs and arias by Schumann, Falla, Mozart, Poulenc and Reynaldo Hahn.

ERIKA SASSMANN recently graduated from Stetson University in Florida. She was awarded the Duckwitz Talent Scholarship, Olive T. Rosa Music Scholarship, named a Dean’s Scholar, and was winner of the Giffin Competition. She was a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. John Passion and Beethoven’s Mass in C. Erika has performed the role of Nancy in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, Ottone in Scarlatti’s Griselda, and a Cretan woman in Mozart’s Idomeneo. Erika has also premiered new works by Marcus Jones, The Mountain, Gloria Patri by Christopher Enloe, Elijah Garland’s I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, and the deepest blue by Maggie Nicks.

HELEN DAVIES studied at the Academy of Music in Vienna and at the RMCM where she won the Dayas Gold Medal and the Silver Medal of the Royal Manchester Institute. She has a busy career as accompanist, chamber musician and soloist. She plays in a violin and piano Duo with her husband Edward, and, since 1992, has played in a successful piano duet partnership with her eldest son, Harvey. She is also a member of the Maurizi Ensemble and the Devas Piano Trio, has worked with Ensemble Cymru and is the répétiteur and pianist for touring opera company Opra Cymru. Helen’s hands feature as a double for Dame Maggie Smith’s in Nick Hytner’s film of Alan Bennett’s play The Lady in the Van.

Yn dilyn ei llwyddiant yn 2017, bydd y mezzo-soprano Americanaidd yn cyflwyno rhaglen o ganeuon ac ariâu gan Schumann, Falla, Mozart, Poulenc a Reynaldo Hahn.

Graddiodd ERIKA SASSMANN yn ddiweddar o Brifysgol Stetson yn Florida. Derbyniodd Ysgoloriaeth Dalent Duckwitz, Ysgoloriaeth Gerddorol Olive T. Rosa, fe’i henwyd yn Ysgolor y Deon, ac enillodd Gystadleuaeth Giffin. Mae wedi bod yn unawdydd yn y Messiah gan Handel, Dioddefaint yn ôl Sant Ioan gan Bach a’r Offeren yn C gan Beethoven. Mae Erika wedi perfformio rhan Nancy yn Albert Herring gan Benjamin Britten, Ottone yn Griselda gan Scarlatti, a menyw o Greta yn Idomeneo gan Mozart. Mae Erika hefyd wedi canu gweithiau newydd gan Marcus Jones, The Mountain, Gloria Patri gan Christopher Enloe, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings gan Elijah Garland a the deepest blue gan Maggie Nicks.

Astudiodd HELEN DAVIES yn yr Academi Gerdd yn Fienna ac yn yr RMCM lle enillodd y Fedal Aur Dayas a Medal Arian Sefydliad Brenhinol Manceinion. Mae yn brysur yn cyfeilio, yn gerddor siambr ac yn unawdydd. Mae yn chwarae mewn Deuawd ffidil a phiano gyda’i gŵr Edward, ac ers 1992, wedi perfformio mewn deuawd piano llwyddianus gyda’i mab hynaf, Harvey. Mae yn aelod o Ensemble Maurizi a Thriawd Piano Devas, ac wedi gweithio gydag Ensemble Cymru. Mae yn répétiteur a phianydd ar gyfer y cwmni teithio Opra Cymru. Mae dwylo Helen wedi ymddangos fel dwbl i ddwylo y Fonesig Maggie Smith mewn ffilm gan Nick Hytner o lyfr Alan Bennett The Lady in the Van.
