‘Il Filo’ by David Gordon (world premiere)
Craig Ogden (classical guitar)
Miloš Milivojević (accordion)

Written for, and in collaboration with, Craig and Miloš, this is David Gordon’s third concerto. Il Filo - the thread - relates to an 18th-century approach to composition described by Leopold Mozart and others, in which ideas are subtly developed and knitted together, perhaps also with the implied idea of conversational engagement that feels appropriate to a double concerto. The eponymous first movement is in a flowing 7/8 rhythm while ‘Snapshots’ is a high-energy romp that gives the soloists a jazz workout.
