Think 'Hymns Ancient and Modern' meets Hank Marvin distilled into fingerstyle solo guitar and you'd be getting warm. Add a “guitarist of astonishing virtuosity whose imagination and melodic invention seem unbounded,” (Q magazine); “ridiculously talented,” (Music Week) and “simply the best acoustic guitar player I’ve ever heard.”(guitar icon Joe Satriani) with a soupçon of Audio Magazine's "a kind of cross between Robert Fripp and Garrison Keillor,” and you'd be warmer still.
Legg is more fully characterized as a “genuine entertainer who excels at not only painting pictures, if not frescoes, and telling stories with music— but also wittily regaling his audiences with tales from his life and travels and his cogent and often oblique yet thought-provoking observations on a spectrum of topics".

Soon after leaving the instrument industry technical workshop, to which after years of playing in bands Legg had retreated to rethink his instrument and musical direction, came America, whose guitar afficionados embraced and have been making him welcome for over three decades. The home and nursery of Texan singer-songwriters, Anderson Fair, welcomed him as a fellow songwriter even though he doesn't sing.
When pushed, Adrian calls it 'the American guitar', which covers the gamut of American music and is part of the culture of everyone from truck drivers to professors of anthropology. And their mothers and fathers. They've used his music as part of their weddings and funerals.

As a raconteur he was snapped up by National Public Radio's 'All Things Considered' to deliver diverse thoughts on anything from racing the Chicago area freeways to disappointing outlet malls. Through it all his music shone - engaging, emotional, and uniquely melodic; lawyers wept and undertakers laughed; old ladies became young again and young men became wise. An Adrian Legg concert needs to be on your bucket list.
