Rufus Adams graduated with Honours History from the University of Wales, Swansea, and studied for his Diploma in Education in Bangor. He spent the whole of his career in adult education. He was a history tutor at Coleg Harlech, WEA Tutor Organiser for (old) Flintshire and from 1980-96 Director WEA North Wales. He founded and edited the magazine “Silyn” and has published extensively on adult education and David Lloyd George. He was the consultant (Wales) for Nottingham University’s International Biography of Adult Education and was the Welsh representative for the British Pre-Retirement Education Committee.

Mr. Adams is very interested in opera and music and has been a member of Welsh National Opera’s Management Committee and Chairman and later President of the North Wales Friends of WNO. Rufus has lived in Rhyl since 1970 and is a committee member of the Music Club.

Graddiodd Rufus Adams gyda Hanes Anrhydedd o Brifysgol Cymru, Abertawe, ac astudiodd ar gyfer ei Ddiploma mewn Addysg ym Mangor. Treuliodd ei holl yrfa mewn addysg oedolion. Roedd yn diwtor hanes yng Ngholeg Harlech, Trefnydd Tiwtoriaid WEA ar gyfer (hen) Sir y Fflint ac o 1980-96 Cyfarwyddwr WEA Gogledd Cymru. Sefydlodd a golygodd y cylchgrawn “Silyn” ac mae wedi cyhoeddi’n helaeth ar addysg oedolion a David Lloyd George. Ef oedd ymgynghorydd (Cymru) Bywgraffiad Rhyngwladol Addysg Oedolion Prifysgol Nottingham. Ef oedd cynrychiolydd Cymru ar gyfer Pwyllgor Addysg Cyn Ymddeoliad Prydain.

Mr. Adams Mae ganddo ddiddordeb mawr mewn opera a cherddoriaeth ac mae wedi bod yn aelod o Bwyllgor Rheoli a Chadeirydd Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru ac yn ddiweddarach yn Llywydd Cyfeillion WNO Gogledd Cymru. Mae Rufus wedi byw yn y Rhyl er 1970 ac mae'n aelod o bwyllgor y Clwb Cerdd.
